EDUCATION |
Miami-Dade Community College |
June 1989 - 1991 |
|
Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale |
Aug 1996 - June 1997 |
After high school I began taking classes at Miami-Dade but never really found my niche. One semester I decided to I take a drawing class (my first art class since elementary school). To my surprise I enjoyed it and did well. The art department encouraged me to seek a grant that was eligible and I received it. With a goal in focus my grades improving, my art was on display and I had a sense of accomplishment. That I'd never had before. Shortly after that Hurricane Andrew came and so did my priorities. I fell in love and joined the working class for the next 5 years. At which time I decided to go back to school for graphic design. |
||
| I am proficient with Photoshop, Dreamweaver (HTML5, CSS, PHP, MySql, Javascript, XML, Wordpress, Joomla) including web hosting environments (Plesk, WHM & cPanel). Proficient but rusty with Quark Xpress, InDesign, Illustrator, Flash. I have also dabbled with nearly every graphics program written, video editing, audio recording, and most recently iPhone and Android application development. As technology rollover is faster then ever, it's easy to fall behind, I attempt to grasp as much as possible. |

Roxy / Everything Wireless |
Oct 2000 - Mar 2001 |
|
I was initially hired as a Flash developer. However, my first task was to build a Yahoo! store (My first experience with a CMS). After the success of the Yahoo! store, I collaborated with Oracle programmers to recreate main site. Together we launched a robust and dynamic eCommerce store front. Additional day to day tasks included working with the marketing team on email ads, banner campaigns, affiliate and sale tracking. * Roxy was to be purchased by DirectTV, the merger failed, Roxy closed. |

Freelance Graphic / Web Developer |
Mar 2001 - Present |
|
After Roxy closed their doors, I decided to try freelancing. Flash forward 10 years and I'm still freelancing. Over the years, I've had jobs as small as posting ebay listings to developing multi-tiered systems; eCommerce (shopping carts), affiliate programs, charities, fishing supplies and tournaments, band site and even a political campaign. I'd be surprised if there's a subject that I didn't work on at one time or another. |
